[Remote] Senior Manager, Staff Software Engineering

The Senior Manager, Staff Software Engineering will oversee engineering teams, manage software implementations, and ensure performance expectations are met while fostering an inclusive culture.
Responsibilities
- Interview and/or approve job applicants for employment
- Conduct and/or review associate performance appraisals
- Initiate or approve salary adjustments, performance ratings, and other personnel changes
- Counsel associates and take disciplinary action or terminate the employment of associates as appropriate
- Manage the activities of engineers and engineer teams in the establishment and implementation of new or revised systems and programs
- Responsible for software implementations ensuring accuracy and completeness and approving them for implementation
- Monitor and analyze functional and non-functional requirements in accordance with regulatory and operating requirements
- Conduct research to understand diverse perspectives from business, project management, design, and other areas to assess likely reactions to new initiatives or products and forecast their potential
- Manage the investigation of interruptions to functional areas of existing systems
- Assist engineers and others in diagnosing cause of problems
- Manage remedy actions
- Analyze the impact of new hardware and software on existing systems
- Train, mentor and provide developmental opportunities for engineers to assure performance expectations are met
- Periodically review existing systems for possible program or systems improvement or enhancements
- Assist in the preparation of all required management reports
- Prepare department business plans, staffing projections and budgets
- Requisition supplies and materials necessary for efficient operation
- Review plans and budgets periodically to achieve cost reduction where possible
- May require pre-hire technical screen
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field of study
- Ten (10) years of experience as a Software Engineer, or related occupation
- Ten (10) years of experience with: Software development lifecycle best practices
- Five (5) years of experience with: Development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment; and Supervising personnel in a technical environment
- Two (2) years of experience with: Automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing
