[Remote] Senior Legal Counsel – Marketing & Advertising Law

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Hudson Talent Solutions is representing a rapidly growing global animal health and veterinary pharmaceutical organization. The Senior Legal Counsel will provide strategic legal guidance on advertising, promotional activities, branding, and regulatory compliance while supporting innovative marketing initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Advise marketing and commercial teams on advertising, promotions, brand marketing, and consumer-facing communications
• Review and approve marketing materials across digital, social media, print, influencer, and paid media channels
• Counsel stakeholders on advertising claims, substantiation requirements, comparative advertising, and risk assessments
• Support promotional programs including contests, sweepstakes, loyalty programs, and cause-marketing initiatives
• Provide legal guidance on global marketing campaigns and coordinate with external counsel when necessary
• Advise on brand protection and brand defense strategies
• Monitor evolving advertising, marketing, and privacy regulations across key markets
• Develop policies, playbooks, training materials, and best practices related to marketing compliance
• Partner with privacy and compliance teams regarding data use, consent management, cookies, tracking technologies, and personalized advertising
• Manage responses to regulatory inquiries, competitor challenges, and marketing-related disputes
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on marketing strategy and legal risk
• Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, digital, communications, and commercial teams on product launches and campaigns
• Provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice in a fast-moving business environment

Skills

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 8–10+ years of legal experience with significant focus on advertising and marketing law
• Experience reviewing and advising on advertising and promotional materials
• Strong knowledge of: FTC advertising regulations, CAN-SPAM requirements, State consumer protection and UDAP laws, NAD guidance and industry standards, Intellectual property matters including trademarks, copyright, and brand protection
• Experience supporting digital marketing, social media, influencer campaigns, and emerging marketing technologies
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and counseling skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders and priorities
• Prior in-house legal experience
• Experience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, animal health, medical devices, or other highly regulated industries
• Working knowledge of privacy laws including: CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, COPPA
• Experience advising on marketing technology platforms, data partnerships, analytics, AI tools, and emerging digital technologies
• Experience supporting global teams and international business operations
• Project management experience and a passion for process improvement
