[Remote] Senior Software Engineer, Backend

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll help design and develop the systems that power their products, ensuring better care experiences and outcomes at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs that power member-facing and internal healthcare applications
- Solve complex integration challenges across diverse and fragmented healthcare data sources
- Contribute to product development by building features that improve user experience, efficiency, and outcomes
- Ensure systems are reliable, performant, scalable, and maintainable
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to agree on technical direction and product goals
- Take ownership of projects throughout their lifecycle—scoping, building, testing, launching, and maintaining
- Mentor and support other engineers, contributing to the growth of the team
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development
- Strong expertise in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Golang, Python, Java, or Ruby)
- Experience designing and building APIs and distributed systems from the ground up
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB)
- Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures
- Balance technical tradeoffs and product impact
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent practical experience.
