[Remote] Staff Data Scientist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance by providing software solutions for large insurers. They are seeking a Staff Data Scientist to build machine learning systems that automate key parts of the claims lifecycle, focusing on improving decision-making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design models and systems that help automate and optimize claims handling, including; Liability prediction, Fraud detection, Document & image understanding
- Partner with product and engineering teams to translate claims workflows into ML solutions
- Prototype production-ready models and data pipelines
- Dive deep on early stage products to scale product market fit
- Help shape the data science roadmap and architecture across Assured’s platform
Skills
- Experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer with a focus on data science, machine learning, or applied AI
- Experience deploying production ML systems
- Strong skills in: Python, SQL, ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost, etc.), and modern data platforms (Snowflake, Spark, etc.)
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data
- Ability to translate real-world business problems into ML solutions
- Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams
- Experience building decision systems or automation platforms
