PHP Support Engineer
Akkodis Group Nordics is seeking a PHP Support Engineer for a contract role in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will provide production support, resolve application issues, and optimize web application performance in live environments.
Responsibilities
- Monitor production systems, triage issues, and resolve PHP application incidents within defined SLAs
- Diagnose and fix bugs in PHP codebases, deploying patches with minimal disruption to live environments
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement long-term solutions
- Review code for performance, security, and quality improvements
- Support database operations by writing and optimizing SQL queries and resolving DB-related issues
- Troubleshoot and maintain RESTful API integrations and update documentation such as runbooks and incident logs
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience in PHP development or production support roles
- Basic hands-on experience with PHP, SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL), and troubleshooting web applications and APIs
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and work with monitoring tools like Splunk or similar platforms
