AmeriCorps Seniors Program Coordinator FT / PT Status – Part-Time - 15-20 hours per week Salary – $21.00 - $23.00 Hourly Wage Remote Work / In-Office – Fully Remote Recruiter – Coral Ortega | [email protected] Application Deadline – 6/7/2026 6:00 PM MDT UServeUtah is seeking an AmeriCorps Seniors Program Coordinator who will be responsible for overseeing the Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent programs in Carbon, Emery, Grand, and San Juan counties. The selected individual will be responsible for the daily management of these programs including training volunteers, placing volunteers, and ongoing support of volunteers. For the Senior Companion Program this will involve coordinating older adult clients to be visited. For the Foster Grandparent Program, this entails working with schools and other community locations for volunteers to serve children. The coordinator will be actively involved with volunteers, volunteer locations and community organizations and will communicate and coordinate with the Program Manager and other Program Coordinators in different parts of the state. This is a temporary position, anticipated to last approximately until June 30, 2027. The position may be extended based on performance and federal funding availability.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion programs in four southeastern counties. Understand program policies and AmeriCorps Seniors administrative requirements to ensure compliance. Coordinate selecting, enrolling, orienting, training, recognizing and placing volunteers with community partners. Supervise all volunteers to efficiently develop and carry out activities of the program. Provide ongoing training and support to volunteers. Oversee development, training and coordination of partnerships and program activities with local community partners. Develop and maintain close coordinated relationships with Foster Grandparent volunteer stations. Interface with other community organizations that serve older adults to coordinate Senior Companion clients. Assess appropriateness and performance of volunteer stations. Maintain appropriate program and volunteer records and reports in accordance with federal guidelines. Track agreed upon performance measures and coordinate reporting of statistics and outcomes for the program. Market and communicate the AmeriCorps Seniors Program and services to the public. Perform other work duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 2-3 years work experience in public administration, education, community/regional planning, human services or social/behavioral science or undergraduate degree in a related field. Previous experience working with those over 55 years of age and volunteers a plus. Interest in and energy for volunteerism and community building. Solid organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through in an independent, responsible manner. People focus - ability to connect with and support a diverse population of volunteers and community stakeholders Excellent written and verbal communication, and computer skills. Ability and willingness to travel frequently to various locations throughout southeastern Utah. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of AmeriCorps Seniors Programs and the ability to stay compliant with program rules and regulations. Experience working with AmeriCorps or AmeriCorps Seniors programs. Live in either Carbon, Emery, Grand, or San Juan counties. Series Promotion The selected candidate for this position may be brought in as a Program Specialist I with a salary range of $20.36 - $34.98 per hour or as a Program Specialist II with a salary range of $24.60 - $36.94.
