The Department of State is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 to provide outstanding customer assistance and vital support services within the Division of Operations and Support. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Clerical Assistant 2 in this capacity, you will participate in a variety of functions including scanning documents, processing payments, logging and filing documents, and retrieval of documents (some from microfilm). Engaging and responsive interpersonal skills are exercised regularly, as you will be providing coverage for the reception area as well as communicating with patrons and providing essential information via telephone and email. Work Schedule and Additional Information: • Full-time employment • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. • Parking is available with this position. • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, following one year of employment in this position. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. • You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or • Graduation from high school; or • An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
