Linux Infrastructure Engineer (Work from Home)
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead Innovation: Design and automate RF design workflows to optimize cost and time, leveraging our state-of-the-art Design Automation tool. Master Propagation Modeling: Assess and develop cutting-edge wireless propagation models, directly impacting the accuracy of site designs and the performance of our wireless network. Navigate Regulatory Complexity: Translate complex regulatory guidelines into efficient RF engineering workflows, ensuring compliance and enabling rapid deployment. Stay Ahead of the Curve: Continuously research and improve RF propagation modeling and predictions, leveraging the latest industry trends and best practices. Mentor and Guide: Provide expert guidance to E2E teams on RF engineering best practices, including RF propagation modeling and antenna design. Share your knowledge and help others grow. Solve Complex Problems: Identify and resolve challenges creatively, proactively future proofing our Wireless Access network infrastructure. Drive Efficiency: Constantly optimize and simplify propagation modelling and geodata assets, tools and techniques, adding value while eliminating clutter and waste. COMPETENCIES Core Competencies (Must-have Competencies) 5+ years of experience in Linux Implementation: Support the deployment, configuration, and patching of Linux servers across the infrastructure. 5+ years of experience in Log Management Operations: Assist in the administration of the ELK Stack, including creating Kibana dashboards, managing Logstash pipelines, and monitoring Elasticsearch health 5+ years of experience in IaC & Automation Support: Deploy and maintain Linux servers and monitoring agents using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools., managing Logstash pipelines, and monitoring Elasticsearch health 5+ years of experience in Operational Troubleshooting: Monitor system health alerts, investigate anomalies using log data, and provide frontline support for Linux-based issues 5+ years of experience in Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for Linux builds, ELK configurations, and incident response procedures. Complementary Competencies (Good-to-have Competencies) Operating Systems: Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Linux environments (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu). Log Management & Analysis: Proven hands-on experience using the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for log aggregation and troubleshooting. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Practical experience automating deployments using tools like Terraform or Ansible QUALIFICATIONS Educational Qualification/s University degree in computer science, software engineering, or other relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
