CONSULTANT’s NAME: Tala Al Shawi JOB TITLE: Graphic Designer (Arabic) TYPE OF CONTRACT: WAE Consultancy – (126 working days). UNIT/DIVISION: Creative, Content & Branding - COMC DUTY STATION (City, Country): Home - based DURATION: EOD: 06 July 2026 - NTE: 31 December 2026 BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: Within the Division, the Creative Studio develops and implements corporate visual branding and sets corporate graphic design and publishing standards. Under the overall supervision of the Head of the Unit and the direct supervision of the Content Manager, the part-time graphic designer will work as part of a dynamic team to assist in the general design work of the team with a particular focus on development of arabic language brand templates and translated communications assets into arabic. ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the team to develop core brand templates in arabic to facilitate staffglobally; Maintain, update and develop arabic template set as necessary; Work on translated layout of key communications assets in arabic, both foroffline collateral and social media and digital platforms; As part of the team, assist in delivering creative and innovative ideas for print,digital and animated presentations in line with corporate brand guidelines; Design, prepare layout or edit existing artwork for a variety of communicationmaterials including infographics, publications, communication templates,banners, posters, newsletters, charts and reports; Design or edit graphics for use on WFP social media channels, creating templatedassets for use by others in online design platform e.g Canva; Support on the creation of new merchandise products; apply design andbranding to proposed products taking into account customer preferences andsale potential. Support with internal communications products, for example, collation anddesign for internal newsletters and promotional assets; Ensure brand resources and guidance documents are available on theMultimedia Hub and are updated and relevant; Develop and maintain branded MS Publisher, Word, PPT templates; Maintain andstrengthen WFP branding ensuring creative consistency; Work collaboratively across Creative Studio/ COM and the organization todeliver the objectives of the unit;  Any other duties as assigned by the Senior Graphic Designer or Head of Creative Studio. DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

  • Support on maintenance and upkeep of Multimedia Hub brand resources section.
  • Support on creation of updated template resources to include accessibility.
  • Execution of translated Key publications into Arabic, e.g the Annual Review 2020.
  • General support to the design on team on creation of various assets across offline/print products, content for social media channels (including animated content).

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: University degree in one of the following disciplines: graphic design, media and communication, fine arts, or other related field. An exceptional design portfolio that demonstrates an excellent understanding of design principles, information design, typography, social media, and integrated campaigns. Experience:  At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience working as a graphic designer;  Proven experience of graphic production from start to published product including knowledge of printing process and online publishing. Knowledge & Skills:  Acrobat Professional);  Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Adobe XD desirable;  Knowledge of video editing, motion graphics and coding for different outputs desirable;  Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Word and Publisher;  Good understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms;  Demonstrated clear and mature design style.  Demonstrates professional competence and mastery of subject matter;  Good attention to detail;  Proven and demonstrable experience in analysis of information and capacity to visualize the information;  Ability to anticipate teamwork needs, ask questions when needed, and take direction from team members;  Ability to present and communicate ideas clearly and compellingly;  Allocates appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work and meeting deadlines; Monitors and adjusts plans and actions as necessary; Ability to work under pressure on multiple projectssimultaneously. Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
