Senior Platform Engineer

The Enterprise Monitoring Team is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with strong experience in network device monitoring, including availability and performance management. In this role, you will work within a team of five engineers, with a primary focus on monitoring network devices. You will collaborate closely with the Network Engineering team to ensure accurate and effective monitoring coverage across the environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the onboarding and offboarding of network devices within monitoring platforms Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and performance metrics Partner with the Network Engineering team to optimize monitoring strategies and visibility Support and enhance enterprise monitoring solutions

Qualifications

Proven experience with network device monitoring including availability and performance Strong collaboration and communication skills Experience with Broadcom NetOps and Splunk is a plus Additional Details This is a remote position with occasional travel to the office approximately 4 to 6 times per year. On-call rotation is required; each rotation lasts approximately 2 weeks, and there are approximately 5 rotations per year. Travel to our Chattanooga, Tennessee headquarters will be required for final interview(s). Sponsorship is unavailable for this role. Job Responsibilities Certify multiple hardware platforms and the interrelationship/interoperability of different operating systems and complex environments. Provide technical leadership and responsibility for the installation and certification of all supporting software and hardware in order to assure a sound deployment basis for production implementations. Developing data architecture to support both the production system, and the backend data science and modeling tools. Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs and takes into account target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems. Must be willing to adjust schedule to perform maintenance and upgrades outside of business hours and be part of an on-call rotation. Job Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent years of experience is required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as 4 years of professional experience. Experience 5 years - Experience in Information Technology required. 1 year - Experience in IT engineering in an enterprise environment. Skills/Certifications Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies including infrastructure services, platform technologies and monitoring tools. Systematic, fact based decision making and problem solving.
