Debt Collection Agent
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Consumer Debt Collection Agent to join our financial services team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing overdue consumer accounts, communicating effectively with individual borrowers, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances. Your negotiation skills and customer-focused approach will help maintain positive relationships while recovering debts efficiently. Consumer debt collection experience is a must.
Responsibilities
- Contact delinquent consumers via phone, email, or written correspondence to discuss overdue payments and negotiate repayment plans.
- Analyze account data to identify overdue accounts and prioritize collection efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of all communication, payment agreements, and account statuses using specialized collection software.
- Ensure compliance with the FDCPA and all other relevant consumer protection regulations, maintaining professional phone etiquette during all customer interactions.
- Follow up on payment arrangements and escalate unresolved cases to management when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in consumer debt collection is required — B2B or medical collections experience alone will not be considered.
- Strong understanding of FDCPA compliance and consumer collection best practices.
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with professional phone etiquette and a customer service mindset.
- Proficiency in collection software and the ability to manage and track account data accurately.
- Ability to analyze account information and perform accurate calculations efficiently.

- Base Salary: $32,500 annually
- Commission: 10% uncapped commission on sales/revenue generated.
- Earning Potential: Average performers typically earn $75,000 per year (Base + Commission), with top performers exceeding $100,000

Schedule & Work Environment This is a full-time, fully remote position designed for disciplined self-starters who thrive in an autonomous environment.
- Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (5 days per week, 8 hours per day 1 hour lunch).
- Location: 100% Remote.
