Our model blends flexibility, family partnership, and personalized learning to support the whole child.We are building a candidate pool for future Special Education Teacher openings and invite educators who are passionate about supporting diverse learners through individualized instruction, strong relationships, and collaboration with families and staff.About the RoleThe Special Education Teacher provides specially designed instruction and support to students with individualized learning needs in a virtual and hybrid environment. This role focuses on delivering services aligned to IEPs, monitoring student progress, and collaborating closely with families and staff to ensure each student receives appropriate support.Special Education Teachers work with students across grade levels and play a key role in creating inclusive, supportive learning experiences that promote growth and independence.What You'll DoProvide specially designed instruction in both virtual and in‑person settingsDevelop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and servicesTrack student progress and maintain compliant, accurate documentationCommunicate regularly with families, staff, and service providersFacilitate or participate in IEP meetings and related processesCollaborate with general education staff to support student successSupport students in building independence, engagement, and self‑management skillsEnsure compliance with all state and federal special education requirementsParticipate in required meetings, trainings, and professional developmentMaintain a strong focus on student safety, well‑being, and confidentialityWhat We're Looking ForA student‑centered educator passionate about supporting diverse learnersStrong understanding of special education processes, compliance, and best practicesAbility to build meaningful relationships with students and familiesStrong communication and collaboration skillsComfort working in a flexible, virtual or hybrid environmentConfidence using technology to support instruction and service deliveryA commitment to student growth, inclusion, and whole‑child supportQualificationsValid Oregon Teaching License with Special Education endorsementBachelor's degree (required); Master's degree preferredExperience working with students with diverse learning needsKnowledge of special education law, IEP development, and progress monitoringReliable transportation for required in‑person meetings and visitsAbility to work both remotely and independentlyWork EnvironmentThis role is primarily remote and includes:Daily computer‑based instruction, meetings, documentation, and communicationVirtual collaboration with students, families, and staffOccasional in‑person meetings or student support as neededWhy Join SHAPA?Be part of an innovative, student‑centered learning modelSupport students through individualized and meaningful instructionCollaborate with a supportive and mission‑driven teamMake a direct impact on student growth and successAbout This PostingThis posting is intended to build a pool of qualified candidates for potential future openings.
