Senior Grant Writer and Development Specialist
Our client, a dedicated charity organization focused on vital social causes, is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Grant Writer and Development Specialist to join their fully remote team. This critical role is responsible for researching, writing, and securing grant funding from foundations, corporations, and government entities to support the organization's mission. You will play a key role in developing compelling proposals, managing grant reporting, and cultivating donor relationships. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills, with a proven track record of success in grant writing and fundraising within the non-profit sector. A deep understanding of the grant application process, donor stewardship, and philanthropic trends is essential. You will collaborate closely with program staff to gather necessary information and ensure proposals accurately reflect the organization's needs and impact. Responsibilities: Research potential funding sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Write persuasive and compelling grant proposals, applications, and reports that align with the organization's mission and funding priorities. Develop and maintain a grant calendar, ensuring timely submission of all proposals and reports. Cultivate and manage relationships with foundation program officers and corporate giving managers. Collaborate with program staff to gather data and information needed for grant applications and reports. Track grant submissions and manage awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all stipulations. Prepare and submit interim and final grant reports to funders. Assist in the development and implementation of overall fundraising strategies. Stay abreast of trends and best practices in grant writing and philanthropic giving. Maintain accurate and organized records of all grant-related activities. Develop and nurture relationships with individual donors and corporate partners. Contribute to the organization's communication efforts regarding fundraising success. Work independently and effectively manage workload in a remote environment. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Non-profit Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing and fundraising for non-profit organizations. Demonstrated success in securing significant grant funding from diverse sources. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail. Strong research skills to identify appropriate funding opportunities. Proficiency with grant databases and research tools. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong understanding of non-profit operations and program development. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with funders. Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team. Experience with donor databases (e.g., Raiser's Edge) is a plus.
