Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Customer Site Specialist to join our team in Texas, ideally in the Abilene area. As a Customer Site Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and smooth execution of construction activities for our Jenbacher Engine business. This role requires a strong understanding of site management, material management, and construction site safety, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Site Specialist, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Participation in the creation of the schedule and tracking of deadlines: In close coordination with project management, the scheduler, subcontractors, and internal departments, you will ensure timely and smooth execution of construction activities.
- Resource planning for the timely and deadline-oriented implementation of the execution phase: You will plan and coordinate resources to ensure the timely completion of construction activities.
- Assembly management and supervision: You will oversee the assembly process, including regular execution progress checks and reporting to the project manager.
- Site documentation and correspondence: You will ensure accurate and timely documentation of site activities, including delivery notes, measurement protocols, assembly protocols, approvals, and other relevant documentation.
- Material management on the execution site and in customer storage areas: You will oversee the management of materials on site and in customer storage areas to ensure timely delivery and installation.
- Monitoring and enforcement of construction site safety: In close coordination with the client's safety and health coordinator (EHS), you will ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
- Provision of site equipment: You will ensure that all necessary equipment, including forklifts, work platforms, scaffolding, tools, and consumables, is available and in good working order.
- Verification of readiness for installation: You will inspect access routes, storage areas, and foundations to ensure they are ready for installation.
- Supervision and monitoring of engine and BOP Parts positioning: You will oversee the positioning and alignment of BOP parts, including final assembly of internal piping and wiring.
- Monitoring of subcontractor performance: You will ensure that subcontractors are performing their work in a timely and contract-compliant manner.
- Commissioning readiness: You will oversee the establishment of commissioning readiness of plant components and systems, including ensuring proper cleaning, leak testing, and pressure testing.
- Commissioning coordination: You will coordinate commissioning activities, including customer meetings, in close collaboration with the commissioning team.
Qualification Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Engineering degree (mechanical or electrical): A degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering, is required.
- Commercial and business management understanding: You will need to have a strong understanding of commercial and business management principles.
- Experience in site management for power plant execution: You will need to have experience in site management for power plant execution, including material management.
- Experience with products from arenaflex: You will need to have experience with products from arenaflex and plant components.
- Performance-oriented personality: You will need to be a performance-oriented individual with a strong focus on achieving results.
- Proficiency in problem-solving: You will need to be able to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
- Good communication skills: You will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with people on the construction site and at executive levels.
- Excellent English skills: You will need to have excellent English skills, both writing and speaking, and additional language skills are an advantage.
- Strong negotiation skills: You will need to be able to negotiate effectively with subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Team player with strong ability to motivate: You will need to be a team player with a strong ability to motivate and lead others.
- Self-starter mentality and ability to work independently: You will need to be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally: You will need to be willing to travel nationally and internationally up to 90% of the time.
