Construction Accounting Manager- Remote for DFW area Applicants ONLY
About the position This is a remote position. Our client is a growing specialty construction company seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting and financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building structure, improving processes, and partnering closely with ownership in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day accounting operations using QuickBooks Online
- Manage job and project costing, ensuring accurate tracking of labor, materials, and margins
- Oversee monthly close, financial statements, and management reporting
- Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Work with outside CPA for Tax Purposes
- Manage payroll and payroll-related reporting (ADP, Paylocity, or similar systems)
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and support external accountants as needed
- Improve and document accounting processes as the company continues to grow
- Provide financial insights to help leadership make informed business decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction or project-based environments
- Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
- Proven experience with job/project costing
- Payroll system experience (ADP, Paylocity, or similar)
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the full accounting function
Nice-to-haves
- CPA is a plus, but not required
