Panel QME Evaluator: CA Licensed Psychiatrist
Job Summary Founded and run by a practicing psychologist and QME, Encina Evaluation Services is a mental health-focused QME management company seeking licensed psychiatrists to join our panel as Qualified Medical Evaluators in the California workers' compensation system. Unlike generalist QME management firms, we work exclusively with psychiatrists and psychologists, which means our systems, templates, training, and support staff are built specifically around the demands of psychiatric evaluation work. This is a contract opportunity, not a therapy or medication management role. As a panel QME evaluator, you'll conduct one-time psychiatric assessments for injured workers, write detailed med-legal reports with our support, and have all administrative, scheduling, billing, and compliance work handled for you. If you're a practicing psychiatrist interested in adding meaningful, intellectually engaging work outside of traditional clinical roles, and want to do so with a team that actually understands what psychiatric QME work involves, we'd like to talk. What We Handle
- Training, test prep, and mentorship
- Scheduling and coordination with attorneys and adjusters
- Document intake, organization, and records management
- 30-day report compliance tracking
- Full billing and collections cycle
- Report templates and quality review
What You Do
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations (in-person and/or telehealth, depending on case type)
- Write detailed psychiatric reports using our templates and with our review support
- Maintain licensure and QME panel status
Who We're Looking For
- Active CA medical license (or currently in application process)
- Board-certified in psychiatry (ABPN or equivalent)
- Active clinical practice with at least 1/3 of time in direct patient care
- Experience with trauma, PTSD, and/or stress-related disorders is a plus
- Interest in the October 2026 QME exam cycle strongly preferred
