About the position

Our Customer Engineering team is unlike any other. We're not just about pitching products or handling complaints; we're about engineering solutions that delight our customers. As a Full Stack Customer Engineer, you'll be responsible for collaborating with our Customer Success team to resolve customer-reported issues quickly and efficiently. Your daily tasks will involve monitoring internal systems, providing technical support, and engaging in comprehensive engineering activities, such as logging analysis, problem reproduction, debugging, solution implementation, code modification, and service enhancement.

Responsibilities

* Respond promptly to technical inquiries from the Customer Success team

  • Investigate the mechanisms and causes of customer-reported issues
  • Develop solutions or workarounds for technical challenges faced by customers
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to resolve complex issues through team-based problem-solving
  • Contribute directly to the codebase to accelerate product and service improvements
  • Share insights on product-related knowledge and commonly reported issues to support the Customer Success team
  • Represent customers and partners, serving as a Voice of Customers to drive feature requests and implementation
  • Participate in incident processes and contribute to incident resolution
  • Engage in direct communication with customers as needed

Requirements

* Strong passion for customer support

  • Enthusiasm for resolving real-world problems through technology and creativity
  • Empathetic understanding of customer emotions, coupled with logical thinking and detailed observation skills
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language and systematic debugging
  • In-depth understanding of HTTP, WWW, REST, SQL, logs, tracing, observability, and other related concepts
  • Openness to communicating in both English and Japanese
  • N2 level Japanese language proficiency

Nice to Haves

* Experience with payment systems or applications involving payments

  • Familiarity with Ruby and Ruby on Rails, Datadog, Shopify, PHP, TypeScript, Amazon Web Services, Docker, or other related technologies
  • Experience in debugging complex software and proposing code changes
  • Academic or professional experience in experimental-based research
  • CEFR B1 level English skills
  • Interest in foreign languages and cultures, with a desire for continuous learning
