Manager, Project Management
Position Summary The Manager of Project Management is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Project Management team, ensuring the successful execution of Leap’s most strategic and complex initiatives while driving consistency, accountability, and operational excellence across the PMO organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Project Management, this role serves as both a people leader and senior-level project management contributor. The Manager of Project Management will mentor and develop Project Managers, oversee project portfolio health, optimize resource allocation, and partner cross-functionally to ensure projects are delivered successfully, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational priorities. This individual will play a critical role in scaling project management operations, strengthening team effectiveness, improving project delivery standards, and proactively mitigating project risk. Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities Summary Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers by establishing clear expectations, accountability measures, and development plans that foster collaboration, operational excellence, individual growth, and organizational scalability. Oversee project management intake and resource allocation by aligning PM support to business priorities, strategic value, project complexity, and scope. Oversee adoption and optimization of project management tools, workflows, automations, dashboards, and reporting practices. Champion continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, scalability, visibility, and project success outcomes. Actively monitor all major projects, including project status, risks, milestones, and deliverables, to ensure they remain on track. Deploy weekly updates to senior leadership and internal stakeholders Proactively monitor project budgets and timelines. Coach project managers on how to manage project budgets, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered within scope and budget. Serve as a point of escalation for complex project risks or issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication with stakeholders and leadership. Proactively identify and mitigate at-risk projects, and support in the creation and execution of action plans. Ensure the team properly closes projects, holds lessons learned sessions, and documents outcomes. Partner with department heads to prioritize action items and drive follow-through and accountability on next steps. Foster cross-functional collaboration, working closely with departments such as Sales, Client Partnership, Product, and Operations to align project delivery with business objectives. Lead operational reviews and support corrective action planning for at-risk projects. Ensure projects maintain clear scope, timelines, communication plans, risk mitigation strategies, and documented deliverables. Directly manage select high-profile, strategic, or complex projects as needed. Contribute to important internal initiatives or campaigns, acting as the project manager where needed to support business objectives. Stay current with PMI standards and ensure the team is trained on the latest project management practices. Key Performance Measures Performance in this role will be evaluated based on: Successful delivery and health of strategic projects and portfolio initiatives Team effectiveness, engagement, and development Proactive mitigation and resolution of project risks and escalations Resource allocation effectiveness and operational efficiency Consistency and quality of project management standards and processes Stakeholder and client satisfaction Organizational scalability and continuous improvement contributions Qualifications & Experience PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent required. 6+ years of experience in project or program management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring teams. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Wrike, Jira, Asana) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall). Strong understanding of PMI standards and ability to implement them across teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments. Proven track record in managing project risks, timelines, and budgets. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects concurrently.
