Business Development Manager - Angola
Position Overview The Business Development Manager (BDM) – Angola is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth for Blue Spark Energy across Angola, with primary focus on Sonangol, Chevron, TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil, Azule Energy, and the major service companies supporting offshore and deepwater operations in the region. The role combines strategic account development, partner management, and direct client engagement to deliver measurable sales results and expand Blue Spark Energy’s market presence within Angola’s offshore well-intervention and production-optimization sectors. The BDM will strengthen Blue Spark Energy’s position as a leading provider of pulsed-power wellbore remediation technology by building trusted relationships across operators, service companies, and local partners, while identifying and converting opportunities for scale, repeatability, and long-term field deployment. A key objective of the role is to transition Blue Spark Energy from pilot and opportunistic work toward structured, programmatic intervention campaigns integrated into operator well health, production enhancement, and subsea intervention strategies. Key Accountabilities Strategic Sales Plan Execution Align personal sales objectives with corporate revenue and growth targets for the Africa region. Develop, execute, and adapt strategic sales plans focused on Angola’s offshore and deepwater producing assets. Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through technical engagement, commercial negotiation, and contract close. Prepare accurate proposals, presentations, and commercial submissions aligned with company pricing and approval processes. Support local market-entry and expansion strategies, including vendor registration, compliance, and in-country partner development. Drive adoption of Blue Spark Energy technologies within well intervention, subsea remediation, injector stimulation, and production enhancement programs. Revenue Delivery Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets. Build and maintain a robust, high-quality opportunity pipeline across Angola. Maintain accurate sales forecasting through disciplined CRM usage and activity management. Identify opportunities for repeatable multi-well campaigns and long-term intervention programs. Position Blue Spark Energy solutions as a cost-effective and operationally efficient alternative to chemical treatments, coiled tubing interventions, and workover-based remediation methods. Support the transition from single-well pilot activity toward scalable offshore deployment programs. Customer and Partner Relationship Management Establish, grow, and maintain trusted relationships across operators, service companies, and local partner organizations. Work collaboratively with local partners, agents, and internal operational teams to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction. Identify and develop strategic in-country partnerships to strengthen market access, logistics capability, and operational readiness. Understand operator challenges and position Blue Spark Energy solutions as a differentiated, non-chemical intervention technology for offshore environments. Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for Angola-based opportunities and accounts. Maintain regular engagement with technical, operational, and procurement stakeholders to support long-term technology adoption. Lead Generation and Market Development Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunities across Angola’s offshore oil and gas sector. Build and maintain strong market intelligence, including competitor activity, intervention methods, pricing trends, and operator priorities. Support the development of Angola-focused case studies and technical positioning material to accelerate market acceptance. Represent Blue Spark Energy at industry conferences, exhibitions, and client events within the region. Work closely with leadership and technical teams to identify new applications for Blue Spark Energy technologies in deepwater and subsea environments. Support evaluation of adjacent West African opportunities where strategic alignment exists. Skills and Qualification Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in international sales and business development within the energy services sector, including offshore and deepwater operations. Direct experience selling solutions into the well intervention, production enhancement, or subsea services market is required. Proven success managing complex sales cycles and negotiating high-value contracts with IOCs, NOCs, and major service companies operating in Angola. Strong understanding of Angola’s offshore oil and gas market, including commercial, operational, and local content dynamics. Established network within Angola’s operator and service company community is highly desirable. Results-driven with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and expanding market share. Experience working with local partners, agents, and in-country operational structures strongly preferred. Willingness and ability to travel extensively within Angola and the wider West Africa region as required. Enterprising self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. Proven ability to build and maintain a strong sales funnel and convert opportunities into revenue. Strong commercial acumen with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Persuasive communicator capable of influencing stakeholders at technical, operational, and executive levels. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred. Physical Demands/Work Environment Variable and fast paced work environment subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity. Work will generally be conducted indoors (75%) but duties also require exposure to client/customer facilities and sites which may involve some outdoor exposure in varying environmental conditions and may include exposure to noise in excess of 85dBA. Work is primarily office based and sedentary in nature, no special physical demands. Regular air-travel as required to develop business in target markets.
