Provider Credentialing Specialist - Virtual Assistant
This is a remote position. Virtual Rockstar is hiring a full-time Provider Credentialing Specialist to join our internal team as we launch and scale a new credentialing and provider enrollment division focused on supporting PT, OT, and SLP practices nationwide. This is more than a traditional credentialing role. We are looking for someone with strong experience in provider credentialing, payer enrollment, and re-credentialing who is excited about helping build scalable systems and operational workflows from the ground up. This role has strong long-term growth potential and may evolve into a leadership position overseeing credentialing operations, workflows, training, and credentialing support teams as the division expands. This initiative will also involve AI-enhanced credentialing software and operational systems designed specifically for healthcare practices. This role is designed for someone who wants long-term upward mobility and the opportunity to become a foundational leader within Virtual Rockstar’s growing credentialing division. Over time, this individual may transition into overseeing: Credentialing operations and workflows Credentialing VAs and support teams Training and quality assurance processes Credentialing systems implementation and optimization We are looking for someone who wants to help build and shape this division for the long term.
Responsibilities
Provider Credentialing & Enrollment Manage full provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes Complete payer enrollments for commercial and government insurance plans Submit and track credentialing applications, revalidations, and updates Maintain credentialing timelines, expirations, and provider records Follow up with insurance payers to resolve delays and outstanding items Credentialing Operations Support Assist in developing credentialing workflows, SOPs, and operational processes Support implementation and optimization of credentialing software systems Help create training materials and scalable systems for future credentialing teams Participate in pilot testing and process improvement initiatives Communication & Compliance Communicate professionally with providers, payers, and internal teams Support provider onboarding and documentation collection Maintain organized, compliant, and audit-ready records Stay current on payer credentialing requirements and industry changes
Requirements
Strong experience with provider credentialing and payer enrollment Experience credentialing: Physical Therapists (PTs) Occupational Therapists (OTs) Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) Experience with: CAQH NPI enrollment Medicaid and commercial payer enrollment Revalidations and re-credentialing workflows Multi-state credentialing processes Experience supporting therapy or rehabilitation practices strongly preferred
