About the role This role blends strategy, leadership, and innovation—with real opportunity to shape a growing, mission-driven service delivering human-centred care at scale. As Principal Educational Psychologist at ProblemShared, you will lead and scale our Education Services—expanding impactful support for children, young people, families, and adults accessing neurodevelopmental assessments. You’ll drive excellence across online SpLD assessments and SENCO consultancy, ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective delivery while developing and shaping the future of our digital education offer. This is a strategic leadership role—you’ll grow services, build partnerships (e.g. local authorities and trusts), and unlock new opportunities across both direct-to-consumer and commissioned pathways. Leading a high-performing team, you’ll oversee quality, performance, and operations—delivering against commercial, utilisation, and service standards. You’ll also: Partner with Business Development to win and shape new opportunities Advise senior leadership on digital access and service innovation Ensure regulatory excellence and safe, high-quality practice You will (Please note this list is a summary of the duties) Leadership & Management Provide specialist Educational Psychology advice across the Neurodevelopmental Service, informing senior leadership on regulatory developments Maintain expert knowledge of legislation, policy, and best practice Represent the service at Clinical Advisory Board meetings Lead service development in line with national standards and evolving user needs Drive high-quality, safe practice through expert guidance on complex cases and procedures Ensure effective supervision, appraisal, and development of staff Oversee quality assurance and audits, implementing continuous improvement Line manage and support Team Leads to deliver performance and business objectives Monitor priorities, risks, and escalations, keeping senior leadership informed Contribute to operational meetings to improve efficiency and support change delivery Service Oversight Identify and provide specialist education and mentorship across the workforce to support high professional standards and understanding of business needs and opportunity Oversee and complete as required, monthly quality audits on an agreed percentage of assessments using the standardised audit tool Operations Management Maintain strategic oversight of day-to-day service operations, identifying performance issues and monitor wait lists / backlogs and addressing business risk; and leading on resolutions Oversee the alignment of education service volumes, forecasting, and on-going business needs; report weekly in Clinical Leads Meeting Monitor waiting lists and backlog status, raising risks to the business where necessary and proactively addressing service pressures Strategic Planning Collaborate with senior leaders to align education services with company strategy Lead development of new education service propositions and business cases Provide expert input to education tenders and business development activity Use performance data to identify trends and drive service improvement Embed company objectives and priorities across education teams What we are looking for Must haves HCPC registered Educational Psychologist with doctorate and at least 2 years working in a local authority setting Experience of SpLD assessment, including SpLD Maths/dyscalculia, and current understanding of SASC/APC compliant reports Experience of school based support and models of delivery for SEND Strong leadership and team development abilities - Demonstrated experience in education senior leadership and management positions and with Proficiency in performance management and operational planning Preferred strong knowledge of digital health, telehealth services, and remote service delivery models High level competence with computer-based systems Strategic thinker with excellent organisational skills and commercial awareness Sound experience of success in supporting business development opportunities and developing new services Comfortable navigating fast-paced environments and managing multiple priorities Clear and confident communicator Analytical thinking Problem-solving Strong accountability and professional integrity Professional Development You are expected to maintain your own professional development and registration and stay current with the latest evidence-based practice and trends in digital healthcare and education— both nationally and internationally.
