POSITION SUMMARY This role serves as the senior-most marketing and communications leader at GO2, with enterprise-wide responsibility. This is a tremendous opportunity for the right person to assume a leadership role, formulate strategy, drive measurable impact, and work closely with the leadership team to further the GO2 mission. Reporting to the President & CEO, the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications (Senior Director) is a key leader responsible for defining and amplifying GO2’s voice and accelerating its mission impact. Through strategic, integrated marketing and communications, this leader will drive patient and community engagement, expand national awareness, strengthen the GO2 brand, and directly support fundraising growth. The Senior Director will lead a data-driven, audience-focused approach to driving engagement with patients, families, researchers, advocates, and donors nationwide, ensuring a compelling and consistent brand experience across all channels in alignment with organizational messaging and voice. This role partners closely with the CEO and leadership team to align marketing strategies with organizational priorities and drive measurable impact. Essential FUNCTIONS and Responsibilities The Senior Director will support the President & CEO and collaborate with the Leadership Team to advance GO2’s strategic plan. Community and Patient Engagement Develop and execute targeted strategies that foster meaningful engagement and magnify our reach with patients, caregivers, advocates, and partners. Ensure GO2’s resources are visible, accessible, effectively promoted and drive uptake in our programs. Strengthen GO2’s connection with diverse communities and key stakeholders, including healthcare, research, corporate, and government audiences. Fundraising and Mission Support Partner closely with the Development and Events teams to design and execute marketing campaigns that drive revenue growth and meet or exceed fundraising goals. Increase donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship through strategic marketing. Align marketing efforts with key revenue streams including planned giving, leadership programs, and signature events. Inspire increased philanthropic investments through impactful storytelling. Marketing Strategy Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies across digital, social, public relations, and traditional channels, increasing program participation and philanthropic giving. Lead marketing efforts to boost visibility and strengthen public perception of GO2 nationally while increasing audience awareness and engagement. Oversee multi-channel campaigns that effectively reach and engage priority audiences, driving awareness, partnerships, and growth. Digital and Integrated Marketing Own and scale GO2’s digital strategy includes website, SEO, SEM, emerging AI-driven search and content optimization (e.g., generative AI/ChatGPT, including GEO), email, content, mobile, and paid media. Leverage data and marketing technology to optimize outreach, personalization, and performance. Stay current on emerging technologies and trends to keep GO2’s digital presence innovative and effective. Content Development and Engagement Lead the creation of compelling, high-impact campaigns including written, visual, and multimedia content. Ensure messaging is consistent, audience-centered, and aligned with organizational priorities. Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver integrated storytelling across all channels. Strategic Brand Positioning Own and evolve GO2’s brand, organizational voice, and visual identity. Drive brand positioning, differentiation, and brand equity to enhance brand visibility and influence. Lead the development and implementation of audience-led brand strategic plans, including applying audience segmentation insights, leveraging brand positioning, and executing long-term content planning. Partner with the CEO and leadership team on brand positioning and organizational messaging. Public Relations, Media, and Communications Lead the development and evaluation of integrated communications strategies to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and enhance GO2’s national visibility. Define organization-wide messaging and ensure consistency across all external communications. Build and activate high-impact relationships with media, journalists, and influencers to increase awareness and coverage. Lead proactive media outreach and secure high-impact national and regional placements. Identify emerging issues and develop communications strategies that support policy, advocacy, and organizational priorities. Develop and manage crisis communications strategies and plans. Oversee external agencies and partners to maximize communications effectiveness and reach. Performance Measurement and Optimization Establish and track KPIs tied to awareness, engagement, and revenue across marketing initiatives. Use data and insights to continuously refine strategies and improve outcomes. Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and accountability within the team. Budget and Financial Oversight Manage marketing budgets to ensure efficient, high-impact use of resources. Align investments with organizational priorities and measurable outcomes. Allocate resources based on ROI, performance data, and strategic priorities. Team Leadership and Collaboration Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing and communications team. Foster a collaborative, mission-driven culture with clear goals and accountability. Collaborate across Development, Patient Support, Research, Health Policy, and other functions to ensure alignment and impact. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Director will manage and lead the Marketing and Communications team and external partners/agencies.

Financial Acumen: Ability to connect marketing performance to financial outcomes and optimize investments. rEQUIRED Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field required, advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, communications, brand management, or related fields, preferably in nonprofit, healthcare, or a similar mission-driven environment. Proven ability to design and execute cost-effective integrated marketing strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and revenue. Expertise in digital marketing, audience segmentation, and performance analytics. Experience with aligning marketing efforts with fundraising campaigns, donor engagement strategies to support organizational goals. Proficiency in marketing technology platforms. Strong digital expertise spanning SEM, SEO, email marketing, social media marketing, content marketing, and mobile marketing. Familiarity with emerging AI-driven search and content optimization (e.g., generative AI/ChatGPT, including GEO) is a plus. Proven experience leading strategic messaging across marketing, communications, and/or advocacy initiatives; healthcare or policy experience preferred. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive results. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior executives and external stakeholders.
