Math Subject Matter Expert, gt.school (Remote) - $100,000/year USD
You're a middle-school mathematics specialist with an eye for precision—the kind who catches an incorrect denominator across multiple browser tabs. Your background includes teaching or tutoring students in grades 4–8 (or equivalent experience with comparable depth), you craft feedback students can follow and implement, and you refuse to allow "almost right" to slip into any learning material. We're developing an AI-driven mathematics content platform that produces questions, articles, and video lessons at scale, but we reject the idea that volume matters when mathematical accuracy or instructional clarity suffers. The field prioritizes "create more." Our focus is "deliver better." Your role serves as the human checkpoint preventing thousands of learners from encountering an AI's overconfident errors, vague explanations, or subtly compromised rigor. This position centers on rigorous quality control for AI-generated middle school mathematics content: verifying correctness, logical structure, grade-appropriate alignment, and pedagogical soundness; identifying conceptual pitfalls, unclear phrasing, and flawed reasoning; and delivering precise, organized feedback that enables rapid correction by another team. The work demands exactitude, high standards, attentive review, and absolute intolerance for mathematically inaccurate or instructionally damaging material. You'll operate within the content production workflow as the last safeguard before publication, examining material delivered through spreadsheets or an internal platform and converting your assessment into actionable issue documentation. If you can work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy, flag problems without lengthy commentary, and prioritize student learning over diplomatic language toward a machine, this role is for you. What You Will Be Doing
- Examining AI-generated mathematics questions, articles, and video content to detect problems in mathematical correctness, academic rigor, pedagogical clarity, and grade-level suitability, then delivering clear actionable feedback that allows another team to revise the content before student exposure.
Math Subject Matter Expert Key Responsibilities
- Confirm that AI-generated mathematics academic content undergoes thorough quality verification for mathematical correctness, academic rigor, and instructional clarity.
Basic Requirements
- You hold a university degree in Math Education (not merely Mathematics)
- You possess at least 4 years of experience teaching, tutoring, or developing EdTech curriculum with a focus on mathematics for grades 3–8
- You are currently located in the US
