Key Responsibilities

As a Home & Garden Customer Experience Associate in Outdoor Living, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting every customer with a smile and making eye contact to create a welcoming environment
  • Listening to customer needs and asking follow-up questions to ensure you offer the right products that meet their specific needs
  • Ensuring customers have an extraordinary experience while shopping, including providing product knowledge and making recommendations
  • Completing transactions accurately and efficiently while engaging customers in conversation
  • Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service and building strong relationships with customers

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 12 months of retail experience, preferably in a customer-facing role
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate a cash register or other sales-related equipment
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including Sundays and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience in outdoor living or seasonal sales
  • Knowledge of military uniform dress requirements and insignia
  • Ability to take initiative and think quickly on the spot to answer customer questions
  • Willingness to cross-train and work in other areas of the store, as needed
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
