Key Responsibilities
As a Home & Garden Customer Experience Associate in Outdoor Living, your key responsibilities will include:
- Greeting every customer with a smile and making eye contact to create a welcoming environment
- Listening to customer needs and asking follow-up questions to ensure you offer the right products that meet their specific needs
- Ensuring customers have an extraordinary experience while shopping, including providing product knowledge and making recommendations
- Completing transactions accurately and efficiently while engaging customers in conversation
- Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service and building strong relationships with customers
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 12 months of retail experience, preferably in a customer-facing role
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate a cash register or other sales-related equipment
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including Sundays and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience in outdoor living or seasonal sales
- Knowledge of military uniform dress requirements and insignia
- Ability to take initiative and think quickly on the spot to answer customer questions
- Willingness to cross-train and work in other areas of the store, as needed
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
