This role will be hybrid 3 - 4 days per week at Penn State - University Park Campus Store Target Annualized Salary Range: $65k - $70k

Job Description

Position Overview The Course Materials Market Leader is responsible for managing and monitoring the course materials business lifecycle and supporting market operations with direct decision-making responsibility for their assigned group. Acts as liaison with Operations field management and store management. Support and provides direction and operational instruction to Course Materials Market Managers related to their individual areas of responsibility. This role is accountable for team member oversight management, weekly team member check-ins and reviews, and reports directly to the Course Materials Regional Manager, depending on business focus. Responsibilities

  • Provides direction in the supervision of Text Decision Makers within the assigned groups, including providing feedback for interviewing, hiring, training, and performance when necessary.
  • Conducts training sessions for Text Decisions Makers identified for improvement or new to their role. Also assists in educating or training localized teams on current course material strategies and procedures.
  • Manages and monitors assigned course materials lifecycle, with direct decision-making responsibility for their assigned group.
  • Responsible for report generation/disbursement, analyzing the data, and working with Text Decision Makers to take actions based on that analysis. Provides direction to GVPs and/or RMs to ensure all course material lifecycle tasks are completed in the stores.
  • Reviews and directs planning activities (including, but not limited to, sales period date setting and sale budget entries) to ensure data accuracy.
  • Strategizes with Course Materials Regional Manager or ACCESS Management to ensure required actions and programs are implemented as designed in all of the assigned store locations.
  • Utilizes course materials tools & reporting to identify stores at risk or otherwise performing below expectations and Course Materials Managers or ACCESS Managers to meet company standards.
  • Drives actions and oversees adherence to course materials policies, directives, and required practices through frequent and continued store training and follow-up. Accountable for compliance with their assigned coverage for key business metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of course materials management experience and multi-unit experience are ideal.
  • Supervisory experience, including performance management, hiring, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, able to convey concepts and solve complex problems across multiple teams.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Teams & BI.
