You will be responsible for contacting patients to discuss their medical equipment needs, taking orders, verifying patient information, and placing orders in a timely manner.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Patient Care Customer Service Representative to join our team in Murray, KY. As a Patient Care Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Contacting patients to discuss their medical equipment needs and taking orders
  • Verifying patient information and placing orders in a timely manner
  • Accurately transcribing patient profiles over the phone, including data entry and possible outbound calling
  • Obtaining medically necessary documentation
  • Processing patient orders through our Online Pharmacy system
  • Resolving tracking issues and rescheduling shipping orders for patients
  • Troubleshooting problems based on patient input regarding the scope and/or magnitude of failure
  • Verifying orders are complete
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Accurately transcribes patient profile over telephone including data entry of information and possible outbound calling

  • Obtains medically necessary documentation
  • Processes patient orders through Online Pharmacy system
  • Resolves tracking issues and reschedules shipping orders for patients
  • Troubleshoots problems based on patient input regarding the scope and/or magnitude of failure
  • Verifies orders are complete
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in medical field and administrative record management
  • Strong customer service background
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both oral and written, with physicians, location employees, and patients
  • Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or Home Medical Equipment (HME)
  • Knowledge of insurance policies and requirements
  • Knowledge of medical billing practices and of billing reimbursement
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Medical terminology
  • Multi-tasking along with attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
