Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales Representative at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to customers, learning about our products and services, and recommending solutions to meet their needs. You'll work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates to ensure a safe and shop-able environment, and contribute to the success of our store departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, actively seeking out opportunities to assess their needs and provide assistance

  • Learn about products and services using our tools and provide information to customers to sell entire projects
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department and other departments
  • Participate in sales promotions, events, and activities to drive sales growth and customer engagement
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues to drive business results and improve customer satisfaction

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or sales environment
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse customers, vendors, and colleagues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing fast, friendly service to customers
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash, operating a cash register, and processing transactions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in a retail or sales environment, with a focus on customer service and sales

  • Knowledge of building materials, décor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen & bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services
  • Certification in customer service or sales, such as the Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or the Certified Sales Professional (CSP)
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues in multiple languages
  • Experience with sales software, such as CRM systems or sales analytics tools
