Interim Chief of Staff
Interim Chief of Staff – New York / US remote – $140k-$200k DOE Interim Chief of Staff, required by a newly established public-private partnership aiming at shaping and democratizing the AI ecosystem. The interim Chief of Staff role will be working directly alongside the CEO during a critical growth phase. You'll act as a strategic thought partner and force multiplier: sharpening priorities, preparing high-stakes engagements, and ensuring the organization's most important work moves forward with clarity and pace. This sits at the intersection of strategy, design, communications, and relationship management and demands genuine excellence across all four.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate broad direction into crisp memos, polished decks, and actionable roadmaps with minimal guidance
- Prepare briefing materials that frame decisions, surface trade-offs, and synthesise complexity into clear options
- Manage a living map of key relationships
- Bring genuine design sensibility to events, presentations, and partner-facing materials
- Work alongside comms to position the organization in the right global moments and prepare the CEO accordingly
- Drive leadership team effectiveness through well-designed meetings, clear accountability, and cross-functional alignment
Key skills & experience
- Prior experience in a Chief of Staff or senior strategic advisory role
- Strong English and French skills
- Strong knowledge of the AI ecosystem and AI tools
- Sharp strategic judgement
- Genuine design skills, combined with a product mindset
- Experience managing external agency relationships
- Experience in philanthropy or mission driven sector a nice to have
- Educated to degree level
- Location: New York, or remote within Eastern timezone
