Responsibilities

As a Data Entry Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately inputting and managing data related to military recruitment and advertising strategies. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate Data Entry: Accurately input a variety of data into databases, spreadsheets, and other data management systems.
  • Data Verification: Review data for accuracy and completeness, making corrections as necessary.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date and organized records of all data entries, ensuring easy retrieval and reference.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and resolve discrepancies or inconsistencies in data entries.
  • Data Audits: Assist in regular data audits to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data systems.
  • Data Organization: Assist the data management team in organizing and managing large datasets.
  • Report Preparation: Help with the preparation of data reports, summaries, and presentations as needed.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support for data-related tasks, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with analysts, researchers, and other team members to ensure timely and accurate data entry.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members to clarify data entry requirements and resolve any issues.
  • Team Meetings: Participate in team meetings to stay informed about project updates and data needs.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
  • Security Protocols: Adhere to all security protocols and guidelines related to data handling and storage.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all data entry tasks comply with relevant regulations and company policies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or coursework in data management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 months of experience (1-2 years preferred) in data entry, data management, or a related administrative role.
  • Data Entry Software: Proficiency in data entry software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, Access, or other database management systems).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Organizational Skills: Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Data Privacy: Basic understanding of data privacy and confidentiality principles.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) and successfully complete a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint check and a National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI) check.

Nice-to-Haves

While not required, experience working with or within the Department of Defense (DoD) or familiarity with JAMRS and its mission and objectives would be beneficial. Additionally, basic knowledge of military recruitment processes or advertising data would be an asset.
