Advanced Mechanical Engineer and Product Owner
About the position As a mechanical engineer for the Fleet Ballistic Missile Fire Control programs, you’ll be a Lead of a cross functional team responsible for Mechanical design, development, and insertion of high technology refreshes of electronics on board the submarine platform. You will also be expected to act as a stakeholder as part of a Product-oriented design and development activity. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Product Owner for advanced technology insertion; Design & Development of maritime or shipboard electronics (on DoD programs is a plus); advanced manufactuing, testing or analysis experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead of a cross functional team responsible for Mechanical design, development, and insertion of high technology refreshes of electronics on board the submarine platform.
- Act as a stakeholder as part of a Product-oriented design and development activity.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
- Requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Strong proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
- Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects
- Strong communication skills with ability to write technical papers and proposals
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
