Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, personalized, and effective one-on-one English lessons via video calls on the Preply platform.
• Develop and adapt teaching materials and lesson plans to cater to students' varying proficiency levels, learning styles, and specific goals (e.g., general English, business English, exam preparation).
• Routinely assess students' progress, provide constructive feedback, and encourage continuous improvement in speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
• Maintain a positive, encouraging, and culturally sensitive learning environment that motivates students.
• Effectively manage your teaching schedule and availability using Preply's intuitive calendar system.
• Communicate promptly and professionally with students to arrange lessons, confirm appointments, and address any learning-related queries.
• Commit to ongoing professional development, including staying updated on ESL teaching methodologies and utilizing Preply’s tutor resources.
• Ensure a stable, high-speed internet connection and conduct lessons from a quiet, professional setting.
• Actively utilize Preply’s platform features for scheduling, messaging, and processing payments seamlessly.

Required Skills

• Native or near-native fluency in English (C2/C1 level proficiency).
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Strong pedagogical abilities with a genuine passion for teaching and helping others learn.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection, a functional webcam, and a high-quality microphone.
• Proficiency in basic computer operations and comfort with online communication and learning platforms.

• Experience in curriculum development or creating customized lesson plans.
• Ability to speak additional languages (e.g., Sesotho) to better understand the learning challenges of local students.
