Our client, a distinguished civil engineering firm renowned for its innovative infrastructure solutions, is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineering Project Manager to lead significant projects. This role is integral to our operations in Raleigh, North Carolina, US , and requires a leader with exceptional project management skills and a deep understanding of structural design principles. You will oversee projects from conception through completion, ensuring they meet technical specifications, budget constraints, and deadlines, while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities: Manage all phases of structural engineering projects, including planning, design, permitting, construction administration, and closeout. Lead and mentor project teams, including engineers, designers, and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Develop project scopes, work breakdown structures, schedules, and budgets in coordination with clients and stakeholders. Ensure designs comply with all relevant building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IBC, ASCE). Conduct thorough structural analysis and design for various project types, utilizing advanced engineering software. Review and approve project deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports. Manage client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for project-related matters and ensuring client satisfaction. Oversee project financial performance, including cost control, billing, and resource allocation. Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing proactive strategies to address potential challenges. Coordinate with other disciplines, such as civil, geotechnical, and architectural, to ensure seamless project integration. Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in structural engineering and project management. Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina, or ability to obtain reciprocity. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design and project management. Proven track record of successfully managing multiple complex projects simultaneously. Expertise in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, Revit). Strong understanding of building codes and construction practices. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client expectations effectively. Experience in a hybrid work setting, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. Ability to travel occasionally to project sites as needed.
