We do three things: launch new working class organizing projects from scratch, train people in the fundamentals of the craft of organizing and a return to common sense non-academic language, and help working class people tell their own story. Position Summary Mother Forward Mother Forward is organizing moms to win affordable childcare, paid family leave, and real support for families. We believe when moms organize, we build the power to change what’s possible for our kids. We are looking for a strategic, creative, and driven Senior Campaigner to help win real change for families — from affordable childcare to paid family leave. Position Overview The Senior Campaigner will design and drive Mother Forward’s national campaigns — building power with moms, shaping the narrative, and winning concrete policy and culture change. You will work with a distributed network of moms across the country to make impact on federal childcare and paid family leave policy, This is a high-impact role for a strategic, grounded leader who believes moms are a powerful force for change — and knows how to organize at scale to win. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set Campaign Strategy & Vision
- Lead the overall federal campaign strategy for Mother Forward, aligned with our mission to win childcare and paid leave
- Identify key campaign opportunities that build power, shift narrative, and drive measurable wins
- Develop integrated strategies that combine organizing, communications, and advocacy
Drive Organizing and Power-Building
- Oversee grassroots organizing strategy, including integration with local chapter campaigns, leadership development, and member engagement
- Ensure campaigns are rooted in real moms’ experiences and leadership
- Scale participation — bringing more moms into action across states
Run Campaigns That Win
- Oversee planning, execution, and iteration of campaigns
- Set clear goals, track progress, and adapt strategies in real time
- Ensure campaigns move from awareness → action → impact
Minimum Qualifications
Campaign Leadership
- 5-10+ years of experience leading campaigns, organizing, or advocacy work
- Proven ability to design and win campaigns in complex environments
- Experience integrating grassroots organizing, digital, and narrative strategy
Team Leadership
- Experience managing teams and developing leaders
- Strong ability to set direction, prioritize, and execute plans
Organizing Mindset
- Deep belief in people-powered change
- Experience building grassroots movements and engaging volunteers or members
Strategic Communication
- Ability to translate complex issues into clear, compelling messaging
- Experience working closely with communications and media strategy
Relational Leadership
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across diverse communities
- Commitment to equity and working across lines of difference
Issue Alignment (Preferred)
- Experience in family policy, childcare, paid leave, or economic justice
- Understanding of the pressures facing moms and families today
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Clear, plainspoken communication—able to avoid jargon and write in everyday language
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable keeping complex work simple, structured, and actionable
- Proactive—anticipates needs and solves problems without being asked
