- Role: Network Engineer (Advanced)
- Location: Remote (occasional onsite work with advance notice)

Key Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and troubleshoot on-premises and cloud network architectures aligned with business goals
- Configure and maintain network switches, routing, VLANs, VPNs, and CSP circuits (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute)
- Provide advanced technical support for escalated network-related issues
- Decommission legacy network components in collaboration with City staff, ensuring minimal disruption
- Optimize network performance and resource utilization through systematic removal of obsolete segments
- Create detailed network diagrams and maintain up-to-date infrastructure documentation
- Conduct performance testing to validate scalability and efficiency
- Deliver training and knowledge transfer to City staff on network processes
- Provide weekly and monthly status reports and facilitate status meetings on progress, risks, and delivery concerns
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (from a recognized four-year college/university)
- 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role
- Proven track record designing and managing robust on-premises and cloud network architectures
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in
- Network switches and routing protocols
- VLANs and VPNs
- CSP circuits (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute)
- Strong expertise in network design, legacy infrastructure decommissioning, and enterprise performance optimization
- Proficiency in creating detailed network diagrams and documentation
- 3+ years of project management and leadership experience
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred Certifications (Advantageous)
- Cisco: CCNA, CCNP
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking
- Microsoft AZ-700 (Azure Network Engineer )
