Job Summary

As a Senior Manager of Self-Service Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the development of web and cloud applications that provide exceptional customer experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy applications that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Your expertise in Java, AngularJS, and NodeJS will be invaluable in driving innovation and excellence in our engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead a team of engineers in the development of web and cloud applications that provide exceptional customer experiences

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy applications that meet the evolving needs of our customers
  • Establish and maintain a workplace culture that fosters innovation, creativity, and excellence in engineering
  • Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures for building and supporting IT applications
  • Manage the development of financial and asset plans for the engineering team
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders
  • Drive the advancement of best practices and standards in software development and engineering
  • Collaborate with other engineering managers to ensure alignment and drive efficiencies
  • Play a critical role in driving and training direct and indirect team members to support the growth and development of the IT division

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, engineering, or information technology)

  • At least 4 years of experience in software development and engineering, with a focus on web and cloud applications
  • Active involvement in Java, AngularJS, and NodeJS
  • Working knowledge of distributed computing (e.g., Sky blue, GCP, or AWS)
  • Ability to travel up to 35% for short-term assignments
  • Valid travel documents and ability to travel throughout the US
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be available for crisis response without prior notice
  • Pass a pre-employment drug assessment
  • Legally qualified to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Approval to work in the US is required; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience managing a budget and leading a full project or initiative, including presenting recommendations to senior leadership

  • In-depth knowledge of business capabilities and careful knowledge of business activities, targets, and methodologies
  • Familiarity with JetBlue's IT disciplines and interdependencies and how their needs drive IT strategy
  • Crewmember assumptions:

+ Regular attendance and reliability + Ability to work flexible hours and be available to respond without prior notice + Ability to maintain a professional appearance + Willingness to help with light cleaning of the aircraft while working or traveling on JetBlue flights + Suitability for the JetBlue culture and ability to demonstrate the JetBlue values of Safety, Mindfulness, Respect, Enthusiasm, and Fun + Ability to satisfy security responsibilities as recommended by JetBlue's Health Management Framework
