Special Education Teacher in Zion, IL
A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Zion, Illinois for a contract position supporting students in a self-contained classroom setting. This role focuses on serving a caseload of 12 students from kindergarten through 5th grade within a structured school environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the academic, social, and behavioral needs of each student.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and adapt teaching strategies to promote growth.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a safe, respectful atmosphere for all learners.
Qualifications:
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience working with K-5 students in a self-contained or similar special education setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with students, families, and school personnel.
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 12 students with diverse learning needs.

- Hours: 7:50 AM to 3:25 PM Monday through Friday
