Remote Clinic Coder
About the Role
We are seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinic Coders to join our growing team. This role is ideal for coders who are experienced in ProFee coding, modifiers, and complex specialty coding within teaching facilities. Candidates with cancer center experience and exposure to resident or split-shared visits are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Accurately assign CPT®, ICD-10-CM, E/M levels, and modifiers for clinic-based specialties.
- Review and analyze medical records in a teaching facility environment, including resident and split-shared visit coding.
- Code a variety of specialties including:
- Cardio/Cardiothoracic (experience required)
- Connective Tissue
- ENT
- Gastroenterology
- Neuro/Neurosurg
- Ortho
- Pain clinic
- Surgery
- Urology
- Internal Medicine
- Family Health
- OB/GYN
- Peds
- Ensure compliance with AAPC, and federal guidelines.
- Meet productivity and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with providers and team members to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of clinic coding experience.
- Active certification from AAPC (e.g., CPC, COC, CIC).
- Strong knowledge of ProFee & Facility coding, CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and modifiers.
- Familiarity with Meditech (required), Allscripts/Altera and 3m.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Preferred:
- Experience with Level I Trauma/Teaching (profee and facility)
