Senior Intellectual Property Attorney
Our client is seeking a seasoned and highly accomplished Senior Intellectual Property Attorney to join their innovative legal team. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while managing a critical portfolio of intellectual property matters. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in patent prosecution, IP strategy, and transactional IP matters, with a strong focus on cutting-edge technologies. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive intellectual property strategies to protect the company's innovations. Manage the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the US and internationally. Conduct patentability searches, freedom-to-operate analyses, and landscape analyses. Advise on IP aspects of R&D, product development, and commercialization activities. Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licensing, joint development, and collaboration agreements. Manage and enforce the company's IP portfolio, including trademarks and copyrights. Provide legal counsel on IP litigation matters and assist in dispute resolution. Stay abreast of evolving IP laws and regulations and their impact on the business. Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and business stakeholders to identify and secure new intellectual property. Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to at least one state bar. Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Minimum of 8-12 years of relevant experience in intellectual property law, including significant experience in patent prosecution. Strong technical background, preferably in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., electrical engineering, computer science, biotechnology). Proven experience in developing and executing IP strategies. Expertise in drafting and negotiating IP licenses and other related agreements. Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills. Ability to manage complex IP portfolios and advise on strategic IP decisions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and business teams. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
