Python Team Lead - Maritime Industry
PROJECT OVERVIEW Our client is a global leader in maritime technology, backed by over 260 years of industry experience. We are looking for an experienced Python Team Lead to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend systems. You will lead a team of engineers, define technical direction, and ensure high-quality software aligned with business goals. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL Lead and mentor a team of Python developers, fostering best practices and continuous improvement; Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend systems using Python; Architect and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL services; Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases to design efficient data models; Build and maintain microservices-based architectures; Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, DevOps, Frontend); Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices; Drive technical decisions, system design, and architecture discussions; Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability; Contribute to cloud-based solutions, primarily on Microsoft Azure. IF YOU ARE 5+ years of experience in backend development with strong expertise in Python; 1–2+ years of experience in a leadership or mentoring role; Solid experience with REST APIs and/or GraphQL; Strong knowledge of SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis); Hands-on experience building and scaling microservices architectures; Experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Storage, etc.); Strong understanding of software design principles (SOLID, clean architecture); Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes is a plus); Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. NICE TO HAVE Experience with frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI; Exposure to event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
