Geographic Information Systems Developer (Remote)

In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative GIS tools and applications aimed at enhancing data analysis and visualization for our valuable clients. By leveraging your expertise in GIS and spatial analysis, you will play a crucial role in improving government workflows and supporting decision-making processes. - Work independently to develop GIS tools and applications, performing complex analyses and creating multi-layered maps using appropriate GIS tools.
- Design and implement data conversion procedures while ensuring software and database quality control.
- Collaborate closely with the GIS user community to ascertain specific application requirements and specifications.
- Engage in project planning, requirements analysis, database design, development, and quality assurance.
- Support SharePoint development and integrate geospatial components between Microsoft Power Apps and GIS software.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in GIS development for law enforcement, immigration, or border security applications.
- Strong understanding of GIS concepts, computer graphics fundamentals, and relational database fundamentals.
- Experience in developing complex analysis and mapping projects.
- Proficiency in software coding and digital database manipulation using GIS programming languages and relevant technologies.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users, both orally and in writing.
- Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft PowerApps is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or a related field with GIS experience is required.
- Must be able to obtain a DHS Background Investigation clearance.
