Job Summary

As a Bilingual Customer Service Agent - Water Utilities Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support. You'll be the face of arenaflex, providing assistance via phone, email, or in person, and handling a wide range of customer inquiries and issues. Your expertise in the water utilities industry will enable you to provide accurate and timely information to customers, while your bilingual skills will allow you to communicate effectively with our diverse customer base.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist customers by phone, email, or in person, responding to inquiries and resolving issues related to utility policies and programs

  • Process customer payments, prepare bills, and make adjustments as needed
  • Handle work orders for service disconnections, reconnections, and new orders
  • Read and record meters and water usage
  • Process requests to turn water service on and off
  • Establish and maintain customer accounts, ensuring accurate account information
  • Input and query databases to make financial adjustments and prorate changes
  • Perform field work, including installing new meters, repairing leaks, and assisting with emergency repairs
  • Assist with special projects and other related duties

Other Responsibilities

* Verify credit and deposit information

  • Review customer correspondence
  • Provide information about community financial assistance resources
  • Review income eligibility applications, tax returns, and transcripts
  • Instruct lower-level employees
  • Transmit and receive radio communication to and from field personnel

Essential Qualifications

* Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal)

  • 1+ year of experience in the water utilities industry
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in database management and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with customer service software and systems

  • Knowledge of water utility policies and regulations
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of weather conditions
