Job Summary
As a Details Expert I, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of sports data on our various platforms. This will involve working with automated data feeds and manual data entry to deliver high-quality sports information to our fans. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new data analysis tools and processes, and to work with our team to create engaging stories and narratives around sports data.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of sports data on our various platforms, including television broadcasts, websites, and mobile apps
- Work with automated data feeds and manual data entry to deliver high-quality sports information to our fans
- Create and maintain a working knowledge of arenaflex's data analysis tools and processes
- Collaborate with our team to develop new data analysis tools and processes
- Contribute to the development of engaging stories and narratives around sports data
- Work in individual settings and in teams to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
- Check the results of your own work and that of others, and perform with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Add to the development of new projects and initiatives across the newsroom, and help newsroom leaders who are coordinating full-time and part-time staff
- Identify potential issues and propose solutions, and communicate rapidly and effectively with colleagues on these issues
- Play a proactive role in working with colleagues to develop or refine production processes
- Be a active member of team and office meetings
- Seek and respond to feedback on personal performance
- Stay up-to-date with current office policies and procedures
Required Capabilities
* Working knowledge of sports teams, players, and the rules of various sports
- Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to rapidly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives arenaflex's digital and television products
- Ability to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances
- Ability to communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing, to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often in the midst of a busy newsroom
Preferred Capabilities
* 1+ years of experience in sports or data analysis, ideally in media
- Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes
- Working knowledge of arenaflex's products and productions
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
- Experience leading or training a team
- Ability to speak and write Spanish
- Experience using social media in a business or news context
Required Education
* High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education
* Professional education or equivalent
