Freelance Bookkeeper (Enterprise Software Experience Required)

Responsibilities
- Manage and perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure accurate financial data.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including financial statements, budgets, and tax-related documentation.
- Utilize enterprise software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to record transactions and generate reports.
- Perform payroll processing with ADP TotalSource and related tax filings in compliance with governmental regulations.
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements and ensure adherence to GAAP standards across all financial activities.
- Paying and filling quarterly sales taxes in multiple states in US and Canada
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper for an enterprise software company
- Revenue recognition (SaaS / licensing / maintenance models)
- Accrual accounting and deferred revenue
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop (required)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Based in the San Francisco Bay Area
- Experience with governmental accounting standards and tax preparation is a plus.
