Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Handling customer inquiries and resolving issues via telephone, internet, or written correspondence
  • Engaging, consulting, and educating members based on their unique needs, preferences, and understanding of arenaflex plans, tools, and resources
  • Answering questions and resolving issues based on phone calls/letters from members, providers, and plan sponsors
  • Triaging resulting rework to appropriate staff
  • Documenting and tracking contacts with members, providers, and plan sponsors
  • Guiding members through their plan of benefits, arenaflex policy, and procedures, as well as having knowledge of resources to comply with regulatory guidelines
  • Creating an emotional connection with members by understanding and engaging with them to champion their best health
  • Taking accountability to fully understand member needs by building a trusting and caring relationship with the member
  • Anticipating customer needs and providing related information to answer unasked questions
  • Using customer service threshold framework to make financial decisions to resolve member issues
  • Explaining member rights and responsibilities in accordance with contract
  • Processing claim referrals, new claim handoffs, nurse reviews, complaints (member/provider), grievance, and appeals (member/provider) via target system
  • Educating providers on self-service options and assisting providers with credentialing and re-credentialing issues

Essential Qualifications

* Customer service experience in a transaction-based environment, such as a call center or retail location, demonstrating ability to be empathetic and compassionate

  • Experience in a production environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in software applications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in a health care or insurance industry

  • Knowledge of health care plans, policies, and procedures
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
