Position: Senior Full-stack Engineer (Node/React)

Job Summary:

As a Senior Full-stack Engineer at OpenGov, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of our cutting-edge cloud-based software solutions. Your expertise in Node.js and React will contribute to building scalable and high-performance applications that empower governments to transform their operations and better serve their citizens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain robust and scalable web applications using Node.js and React.
  • Write clean, efficient, and testable code to ensure the highest level of software quality.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application performance, reliability, and security.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in web development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Full-stack Developer with a focus on Node.js and React.
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related front-end technologies.
  • Familiarity with back-end development and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with modern web development tools and build systems (Webpack, Babel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • Ability to work in an Agile development environment and deliver high-quality code on schedule.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience working in a SaaS or cloud-based software company.
  • Contribution to open-source projects or active participation in developer communities.
  • Familiarity with government financial management or budgeting processes.
  • Previous experience in mentoring junior developers.
