Responsibilities and Essential Functions

As a Data Entry Representative – EHR File Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate placement of complex health information, including clinical records, in the correct patient EHR within identified timeframes. This will enable our customers to access current patient information, ensuring continuity and quality of patient care. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring accurate placement of complex health information, including clinical records, in the correct patient EHR within identified timeframes
• Filing documents accurately in the EHR according to approved filing structure, adapting to changes in processes, and meeting quality standards of 98% accuracy
• Maintaining a high level of quality assurance trust level in the current EHR, with a goal of 100%
• Achieving precise filing at a rate of 55 pages per hour
• Prioritizing daily work, including problem-solving and decision-making, independently, with minimal direct supervision
• Managing your own time and work, understanding and following through with minimal direction from supervisors, clinicians, colleagues, and peers
• Researching patient information in computer systems to determine location of care, Medical Record Number, Medical Identification Number, medical terminology, etc.
• Evaluating issues and making decisions autonomously for less complex issues, seeking guidance from supervisors for complex issue resolution
• Performing quality assurance activities to ensure accuracy of filing
• Appropriately tasking providers for review of scanned documents per accepted protocol
• Demonstrating a positive customer service approach in all internal and external customer experiences

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required
• General understanding of medical terminology, including knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic studies and tests, specialty names, etc.
• One year of customer service experience in healthcare and PC skills required
• A minimum of one year of Health Information Technology experience preferred
• Previous EHR experience required, with Hyland OnBase Unity Client experience preferred
• Ability to convey information to customers in a warm, clear, concise manner
• Good oral and written communication skills required
• Demonstrates positive customer service behaviors
