Back End Developer (Elixir)
We’re a startup on a mission to scale quickly to Series A We’re looking for an experienced Elixir Back end developer with strong ownership and a track record of delivering high-performance, production-grade systems end-to-end. You’ll work closely with a small, fast-moving team to design and implement scalable backend services.
Tasks
What You’ll Own
- Design, implement, and maintain Elixir-based APIs, workers, and background jobs
- Build reliable and high-performance systems using OTP, Phoenix, and Ecto
- Integrate with internal and external services, queues, and event-driven pipelines
- Collaborate across product, frontend, and DevOps teams
- Own delivery — from architecture and coding to deployment and monitoring
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of backend development experience, with at least 2 years in Elixir
- Strong knowledge of OTP, Ecto, and Phoenix frameworks
- Proven experience building high-performance systems
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL and SQL performance tuning
- Familiarity with AWS services and serverless environments (e.g., Lambda)
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently
Nice to Have
- Experience in the FinTech industry
- Experience with Node.js (Express, AWS Lambda)
