About the Role
As a Distributed Systems Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technical program managers across teams to drive cross-functional initiatives, contributing to the development of our data infrastructure, including database access, data platform foundation, big data processing, and big data orchestration. You will also participate in the open-source community, sharing our experiences and contributing to arenaflex OSS.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technical program managers across teams to drive cross-functional initiatives
- Contribute to the development of our data infrastructure, including database access, data platform foundation, big data processing, and big data orchestration
- Participate in the open-source community, sharing our experiences and contributing to arenaflex OSS
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base
- Collaborate with other engineers to design, develop, and deploy new features and applications
Requirements:
* 2+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems features or applications
- Proficient in the design and development of RESTful web services
- Experienced in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems
- Knowledgeable in Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- Comfortable with multi-threading and concurrency
- BS in Computer Science or a related field
- Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure
- Experience with containerization, such as Docker
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as Jenkins, Git, and Kubernetes
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience with big data processing frameworks, such as Hadoop or Spark
- Familiarity with data warehousing and business intelligence tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Amazon Redshift or Google BigQuery
- Strong understanding of security principles and best practices
- Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
