Job description: The Technology Project II Manager leads teams through the implementation of technology, business, and academic projects for the Anchorage School District. The position has a retirement association with the Public Employees? Retirement System (PERS).
Job Requirements
The following are required: * A bachelor?s degree in project management or business administration. Equivalent experience, education, or training may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
- A minimum of 4 years of project management experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of information technology experience.
- Knowledge of the Project Management Institute?s project management life cycle.
- Experience working with an educational institution.
- Analyzes business needs and develops project plans to attain expected outcomes.
- Develops project charters outlining scope, objectives, stakeholders, requirements, risks, schedule, budget, and project authorization.
- Manages tasks, decisions, issues, changes, training plans, support plans, testing plans, and procurement activities.
- Monitors and controls project scope, schedule, risks, resources, quality, and customer satisfaction throughout the project life cycle.
- Analyzes inter-dependencies between technology, operations, and business/education needs.
- Coordinates project activities and communicates with project team and stakeholders.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the project management life cycle, agile methods, software implementation, and testing techniques.
- Demonstrates knowledge of effective stakeholder and change management practices and communication strategies.
- Performs project evaluations and assessment of results.
- Complies with ASD policy and project standards and with state, federal, and local laws and regulations.
- Prepares memorandums, status updates, and conducts presentations for the Anchorage School Board.
- Influences and promotes change and enhances performance within a cross-functional environment.
- Works in an ambiguous environment and collaborates across multiple areas to reach a common objective.
- Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with others, including effective communication with all levels of management, supervision, and other ASD personnel.
