Experienced Technical Customer Support Representative – Remote Customer Service

About the Role:

As a Technical Customer Support Representative, you'll be responsible for:

• Identifying, investigating, and resolving customer questions or problems with computer software and hardware
• Providing email, chat, and telephone support to end-users experiencing technical difficulties
• Applying knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems
• Guiding users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools and software and/or following verbal instructions
• Identifying and escalating support situations requiring urgent attention
• Tracking and routing support requests via computerized ticketing system; thoroughly documenting resolutions
• Staying current with product upgrades, system information, and business updates
• Collaborating with other team members to research and resolve problems
• Performing other related duties as assigned

Schedule:

We're flexible and offer a variety of schedules to accommodate your needs. Our ideal candidate will be available to work Tuesday through Saturday, preferably from 10am to 6pm CT. However, we're open to discussing alternative schedules that work for you.

Required Skills and Abilities:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software
• A thorough understanding of computer software and hardware, including desktop computers, network devices, and peripherals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• A professional and pleasant telephone manner
• The ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical customers
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• A willingness to have telephone conversations monitored for quality assurance

Education and Experience:

While not required, we prefer candidates with:

• An Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in customer technical support

Physical Demands:

As a remote worker, you'll need to be comfortable working in a home office setting with:

• A dedicated workspace with a computer, headset, and computer monitor
• Ability to sit for the duration of the workday
• Ability to use a keyboard, headset, and computer monitor for the workday
